John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched many people with his songs. Many of these have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's popular songs about his new home state have inspired many people to move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared the following: John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first ever inductee. Denver is viewed as the personification of Colorado by people throughout the world. When I travel, I always meet someone from the other end of the planet, someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado The first word to come they say is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo achievement after having performed with small folk bands. It was written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the song along with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition immediately, he realized the song was likely to become the next hit single. Following the performance at Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer recorded it just days later.
