Singer and songwriter John Denver touched millions of people. He also achieved the status of a superstar through his pop-folk songs based on folk, many of them based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He was enthralled by Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's popular state anthems has drawn many people to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame claimed that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver became one of the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Today he personifies the state for all people. You meet people in other countries, like New Zealanders, and they ask them "I come from Colorado" and they instantly reply with Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song using Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition he knew right away the track could become a hit single. Danoff recorded the track just a few days later when he performed it in front of crowds that were enthralled on the streets of Washington D.C.
