Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman in business. She is the current president and the controlling owner for the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss comes from California was born into an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was an estate tycoon and later owner of Lakers as well as other companies. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated after her parents split in 1972. She joined the family business at the age of 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team.
